The Japanese man Jirouemon Kimura died at the age of 116 years of natural causes on Wednesda in his hometown Kyotango, provincial city of Kyoto in Japan. He was recognized in December 2012 as the oldest person still alive. The oldest man in the world died at 116 years and 54 days.

Born April 19, 1897, Kimura worked in Japanese postal service for 40 years and after retiring, he devoted himself to farming until 90 years.
Kimura leaves seven children, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
