ASUU CALLS OFF STRIKE

ASUU calls off its five months strike.

Reports from Minna, Niger State capital is pointing to the winding down of Nigeria's longest university strike in history. The news is that Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has called off its five months strike.

The NEC meeting in Mina arrived at the latest decision to suspends its strike after a unanimous vote that was held at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State on Monday.

So, after a protracted debate, after the blame game, after threats and ultimatum, the Federal Government and ASUU has finally reached a compromise during a negotiation brokered by the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar few days ago.
ASUU has ended its strike.
