The Powerball jackpot swelled to $1.5 billion on Tuesday, one day ahead of the next drawing which is Wednesday January 12, 2015 at 10:59 pm ET. It is already the single largest lottery prize ever, and the hype has sent ticket sales skyrocketing -- driving the grand prize higher still.
The Powerball Winner Predictor predicts no winner in Wednesday's drawing and the pot will continue to climb into unheard of amounts. Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The lottery involves drawing five white balls from a spinning heap of them numbered 1 to 69, plus a red Powerball numbered between 1 and 26.
The odds of hitting the jackpot are one in 292.2 million,
