    Professor Ilesanmi Adesida becomes the first black Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the University of Illinois. Illesanmi Adesida born in Ondo State, Nigeria possessed a Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degree in Engineering from University of California.

     Prof Adesida is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Vacuum Society, and the Optical Society of America
