A woman and two of her children died late Wednesday in a fire that reportedly began when her husband threw a lantern onto a bed during a domestic fight and left the house with the doors locked.
The couple's 12-year-old son was the first to alert neighbors that his mother and two younger siblings were locked in their blazing home.
"My father and my mother had a fight and my father threatened to burn our house. He threw a lantern onto the bed and left home," the boy said.
The fire, which broke out Wednesday evening, quickly spread to neighboring houses, most of which were built with wood.
Late-arriving firefighters were hampered by low water pressure and the blaze burned down seven houses before it was extinguished.
