More woes for PDP in Lagos State
The Lagos state election petition appeal tribunal, yesterday upturned the judgement of the state’s election tribunal which declared the PDP candidate, Babajide Obanikoro, as the winner of the 2011 chairmanship election in Obalende/Ikoyi LCDA,
Justice Samuel Candide-Johnson, while delivering his lead judgement, said the substantive appeal filed by Action Congress of Nigeria and its candidate Adewale Adeniji was successful.
Justice Candide-Johnson ordered the Lagos State Electoral Commission, LASIEC, to issue a certificate of return to Adeniji Adewale as the duly elected chairman of the LCDA.
In Lagos, PDP has been trailing ACN since 1999. Losing this appeal is likely going to damage any future takeover in the upcoming election.
