Man sells son to get visa


Mr. Onyekachi Ekwelum from Abia State, Nigeria allegedly sold his six-month-old son to raise funds to process his travel documents. Ekwelum was arrested and would appear before a magistrate after his wide notified the police about the act. Her husband had wanted to travel to Greece.

In a similar incident last month, one Mr Chidiebere Samuel and his wife Odinaka Samuel connived delivered and sold their baby girl at N150, 000.

The Abia State police command has expressed concern over the high rate of child trafficking in the state.
