ASUU Strike 2013: Talks Continue

The ASUU Strike is still on, and President Goodluck Jonathan and the academic staff Union of Universities are working toward a last-minute deal to avert the four month old strike.

The Meeting which kicked off at about 2:30pm Monday had in attendance, the President, the Vice President, the secretary to the government of the federation, ministers of education and Labour

The ASUU delegation was made up of the Chairman of ASUU, Dr Fagge and other members of the executive of the Union.

The President of Nigerian Labour Congress, Mallam Abdulwaheed Omar was also in attendance.

While exchanging pleasantries with the ASUU delegation, President said ‘ I hope this strike will end today. Our children have suffered enough. We must find a solution’.

All those in attendance responded with a loud “amen.” Add mine as well.

Jonathan also expressed similar optimism when he greeted the NLC president, Mallam Omar
“My president with you around today, there will be no problem, our agreement is signed, sealed and delivered.”

The talks continue and osas eye will update you as soon a deal is in place to end the nationwide strike.
