Actor Paul Walker died in a car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif., on Saturday November 30, his rep has confirmed. He was 40 years old.
TMZ reports that Walker was in a Porsche Carrera GT when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle. It then slammed into either a post or a tree and then burst into flames and exploded.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said that the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 28300 clock of Rye Canyon Loop.
The driver in the fatal crash that killed Paul Walker has reportedly been identified as 38-year-old Roger Rodas.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says speed was a factor in the one-car crash in the community of Valencia. Deputies found a red Porsche engulfed in flames when they arrived Saturday afternoon.
Walker's publicist said Sunday the other person in the car was Roger Rodas, a friend of Walker's who owned a sport car dealership.
Walker's publicist said the actor was the passenger, though the sheriff's department did not confirm that.
The Porsche crashed into a light pole and tree and burst into flames. The downed light pole had a speed limit sign of 45 mph.
Walker was in Valencia for a fundraiser benefiting victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines. Watch the video of Paul Walker's death and accident.
