CHAN 2014: LIBYA WINS 3RD EDITION

Libya won the Africa (CHAN-2014) Nations Championship
Libya won the Africa (CHAN-2014) Nations Championship beating Ghana (4-3) on Saturday night at the Sea Point Stadium, Cape Town, South Africa.


The "Knights of the Mediterranean" thus the challenge to a catchy Ghanaian team loses for the second time in its history in the finals of CHAN. Libya won its first continental trophy, thus taking revenge for his defeat at home in the final of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 1982 against Ghana.


Nigeria finished the competition on the 3rd at the expense of Zimbabwe ranked match (1-0). The match was quite busy between the two best teams in the tournament and each of the two teams had the opportunity to complete the proceedings for 90 minutes, but the success was not appointment. It took a penalty shoot-out goal to see the men of Javier Clemente win (4-3) and win the first continental title in their history.Libya succeeds Tunisia, who won the 2011 edition in Sudan.
