Ivory Coast crowned African Champions

Ivory Coast winner Africa Cup of Nations 2015

Ivory Coast beats Ghana by way of penalties. Ivory Coast have played in four #AFCON finals and all four have ended 0-0 but this time, they win their second Africa Cup of Nations.

Ivory Coast vs Ghana couldn't be separated over 120 minutes and the Elephants won 9:8 on penalties thanks to their veteran goalkeeper.

Boubacar Barry, aged 35, who replaced regular injured keeper Sylvain Ghobouo for the final is the hero for The Elephants. It is a triumph for Ivory Coast boss Herve Renard who has developed this team with great skill. It is a bitter, bitter moment for Ghana, who are walking disconsolate.

Herve Renard, having made history, having lifted two Afcon titles, is right in the melee there. What does that say about him? He has made a life for himself as one of the top coaches in African football

Ivory Coast end 23 years wait for the African trophy.
