Victorious Nigerian football team arrives home


The Nigerian football team has arrived back home, taking the African cup of Nations 2013 trophy on a victory parade. Chants of Super Eagles Ole, Super Eagles Ole! greeted the team at Abuja airport where fans also waved flags and held out banners of Keshi please stay!

They later visited the national stadium where a crowd of several hundred fans, some waving the national green and white flag, received the team.

The players, their coach, Stephen Keshi, and other officials stepped down from the bus, shook a few hands of their fans, and stepped back on to head to their hotel before meeting Jonathan later at the presidency.

Keshi and his team were given a loud cheer when they emerged from the bus and supporters surged forward to greet them.
