YouTube reaches one billion viewers Monthly

YouTube, the video-streaming service owned by Mountain View, reached a new milestone this month thanks to an average traffic equal to one billion users. This result is mainly due to the increase in visits from mobile devices.

Proud of the new record, the team wanted to emphasize that that today about one in two people connected to the Internet would visit YouTube pages.

In practice, if YouTube were a country, it would be the third most populated region in the world after China and India, also PSY and Madonna should repeat as many as 200 thousand times their performance at Madison Square Garden to raise as much audience.

Born in technology back in 2005 (one year after Facebook ) from an idea by three former employees of PayPal (Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim), today YouTube would be the third most visited website on the Web after Google and the creature in Menlo Park.
