Fashola the Great Leader

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State is the closest thing to a Great Leader than has ever occurred before in Nigeria. Never before has Nigeria produced a honest, disciplined, and a troubleshooter. Fashola and his administration has transformed Lagos state into one of the best places in the world. So glad to see good things coming from a genuine Nigeria. You don't have to be dead for us to recognized the good works currently in Lagos State.

Last month, I watched him speak at John Hopkins University advocating federating states and local governments to utilize the diverse capacities inherent in their domains for economic prosperity. Fashola described the period before the Military dominance as the nation’s Golden Age. He said

“The system was not without its problems. But Nigeria had stable electricity. We had more food – enough to eat and enough to export. Illiteracy levels were higher but there was evidence to show that it was being addressed. Our universities had more learning in them and acquired a respectable reputation”, the Governor said.

According to the Governor, things began to fall apart for the country when the Military intervened in governance. “We quickly began to lose our lustre. The military came in and unified the regions and things have never been quite the same since”. Even now that power has returned to civilians, corruption and mismanagement continues to seduce the government at hand. 

Thanks to a few Governors: Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State,Sullivan Chime of Enugu state, Goodswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state and the Great Leader Fashola of Lagos for being incorruptible.
