Has Boko Haram killed Jonathan's re-election?

The race to the 2015 presidential election is getting close. President Goodluck Jonathan is eligible to contest under PDP for re-election. Has Boko Haram killed Jonathan's re-election bid. The Islamist insurgents have taken seize all over the north with residual effects around the country. How is the president handling the situation: First, Silence. Then comes the failed Amnesty deal. A declaration of states of emergency and failure to preside over a country will go along way to kill his re-election campaign.

Boko Haram and Jonathan's re-elction

The president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade AbdulWaheed Omar, has declared that President Goodluck Jonathan has every right to seek re-election in 2015.
“It is now up to Nigerians, the electorate to decide if he has performed well to vote for him but as far as I am concerned, as a Nigerian and the sitting president, he can contest for the highest position which is presidency.” He said


It is his constitutional rights to contest. He is likely going to be the party flag bearer. His government has failed so far. But Has Boko Haram help kill off his re-election campagn?
