Pastor Chris Okotie, don't run for president

Pastor Chris Okotie, don't run for president
The Pastor of the Household of God Church has announced his intention to run for President in 2015. It will be his third attempt following failures in 2003 and 2007.

He made the announcement through The Punch saying “I will run in 2015, God willing. God spoke to me about my participation in the political process, which was why I took the step in the first place. He has not said anything contrary.’’

Pastor Chris Okotie is not one of the most admired around the country. His CV boast a pastor of political and religious controversies, with multiple failed marriages and extravagant lifestyle. He can really do without running for Nigerian president in 2015.

At times it sounds like a joke to me that his congregation of followers are tuned and well drilled into his Greek mythologist use of words. Like the pardoner in Miller's tale, he uses this to extort money. This will be the third time he's using the name of God in vain: to manipulate his followers to raise more money for politics and wasteful lifestyle. Late last year, Pastor Chris Okotie acquired: Rolls Royce Phantom said to be worth N80m, Range Rover Autobiography worth N30million in addition to his Hummers and other expensive cars.

He has been the pastor of the Household of God Church for over 27 years following a failed career as a pop artist. He may be able to use his greek words to extort his followers but not Nigerians as a country. Most Nigerians don't believe he's qualified as a presidential candidate and I agree with my people.

It is time for Pastor Chris Okotie to move on. Don't run useless pastor says a critic. Don't run, no vote from me. Don't run, Pastor Chris Okotie for President.
