Queen Elizabeth wins British Oscar

The Queen at the ripe age of 87, received the honorary BAFTA, the British equivalent of the Oscars, "in recognition of her support for the British film and television industry. Bafta chairman John Willis described Queen Elizabeth as "the most memorable Bond girl of all time" - a reference to her cameo in the London Olympics opening ceremony.

Stars of the UK film industry gathered at the Windsor Castle for the doubly special occasion: a reception in her honor and also award the prize to Her Majesty.

The actor Sir Kenneth Branagh presented her with the award.
