Nigerian HIV rapist Stoned to Death
Is this an act of justice? What remains of the current debate and controversy in Kano where an Islamic court in the northern Nigeria state has sentenced a 63 year old man to death by stoning for raping a 10 year old girl and infecting her with HIV.
Ubale Sa'idu Dotsa admitted raping the girl. His two wives have reportedly died from Aids-related diseases.
Several people have been sentenced to death by stoning in northern Nigeria's Islamic courts but none have been carried out.
Dotsa has the right to appeal up to the federal Supreme Court.
