The Spread of Azonto
Ghana's Azonto dance has spread out of Ghana through Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Congo and other parts of Africa and has invaded Ghanaian, Nigerian communities in the US, France and Britain. Azonto originated among the Ga people of Ghana. It is a hip-shaking, foot twisting and wrist flexing dance move.Since entering the UK and Itunes chart list this year, Azonto has been adopted by Prince William, Physical Education classes and gyms worldwide. A new variant of the dance now called Chirzonto is dominating churches nationwide.
