German artist Gerhard Richter painted 'Abstraktes Bild' in 1994 and has been described as a "masterpiece of calculated chaos". The painting was sold on Friday at the Sotherby's art auction in London for a whooping $34.19 million.
The amount surpass the record holder Jasper John's 'Flag' for money paid on art by a living artist.
