David Beckham ends LA Galaxy career with MLS cup
The former England captain bowed out with a victory in the MLS Cup final, where LA Galaxy saw off Houston Dynamo in a 3-1 win to take the trophy for the second year in a row.
It was a triumphant finale for the 37-year-old Beckham, who made the move from Real Madrid in 2007 for a 5 year contract worth $250 million.
"It's sad that it is the end; this has been a special place for me and continues to be special to me.'' he said.
"I'm happy to have been part of this for nearly six years and to have been successful with this club for four years.
"I'm going to continue my commitment to this league, this country and this sport. My commitment stays the same to growing this league and growing the sport in this country."
Asked where he would be playing next, Beckham responded: "I have no idea, what's more important is that I'm happy I'm wearing this (Galaxy) uniform today."
