Baby born with no legs and arm, abandoned by his mother

A baby whose doctors have given the name Francesco, was abandoned by his mother. He was born without arms and legs. It is reported that after giving birth, the young woman from Eastern Europe decided not to accept and then left the baby in the maternity ward. It seems to have been rather painful for the biological parents to cope with future difficulties which may have left to the abandonment.

The staff of the hospital at San Donato of Arezzo took care of the newborn for about two months, and then gave him the new Pope's name.
