The Lagos State government opened the new toll roads over the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge to the public last week. This bridge is part of the high-class neighborhoods of Lekki Phase I. Most of these people can easily afford to pay the toll. The idea is for the new toll to generate revenues for maintenance, construction of other infrastructure and a ease of traffic.
Lagosians and Nigerians nationwide have lauded this new toll roads, but it would have been different had it been placed at at Ayobo, Iyana-Ipaja, Agege, Ajegunle or Ikorodu. Kudos to the Fashola regime again.
