This Sunday, Tanzanaian Idris Sutan made Big Brother Africa, becoming the second from his country to win the show. The 21 year old walks away with the $300 000 grand prize. Fellow housemate and Nigerian Tayo finished second.
Tayo had turned out to be the outright favourite to the jackpot but Idris’ advantage came because most countries that have allies to Tanzania like Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Zambia had bowed out of the house, unlike Idris who still had competitors to the finale.
For the finale Idris, looked drapper in his suit and said he will "give the money back to Africa."
